Where Do I Begin?
By calling our Welcome Center at 239-275-3222, you can gain access to all departments within SalusCare. Trained Customer Service Representatives are available to take your calls Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. An answering system records messages during off hours and provides an emergency number that can be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Or, in an emergency, simply dial 911.
As a new patient, the first step to receiving service is to come to our Access department for an initial free intake screening. No appointment is necessary for this initial free intake screening available between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm, Monday – Friday at any one of three campus locations: 2789 Ortiz Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33905, 3763 Evans Ave., Fort Myers, FL 33901 or 1105 Cultural Park Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33990. You should plan about one hour for this meeting. The clinician will ask how you are feeling as well as other questions to get to know you so they can determine which services would best be suited to your needs. At this time you will also meet with a Financial Counselor. The Financial Counselor can assist in matching your insurance to our programs and providers, or develop a payment plan if you are uninsured.
The Next Steps
Once your initial free intake screening is complete, a recommendation for further services will be made by the clinician you met with. They might suggest medication management with one of our psychiatrists, or counseling with one of our therapists, for example. A follow-up appointment might be scheduled for you immediately after your screening, or you can leave and call our Welcome Center at a later time to assist you with a next step.
If you are participating in one service, and you and your professional agree that you could benefit from the services of another service, a referral can be made so that you can quickly begin to experience the support of additional SalusCare services.
